WELCOME
In
Northern Ireland, there has been a catastrophic
decline in the number of honeybees as vast
numbers of our colonies are suffering from
horrific maladies such as the varoosis, by which
an external parasite attaches to the body of the
bee and infects them with killer viruses.
If we allow
the problem to escalate we'd no longer be able
to create pretty flowers, cotton clothing, many
medicines (most use plant extracts) and
eventually our animals would starve as there
would be nothing to feed them, so there would be
no meat. As Einstein once said ''without
bees there's no pollination, then no plants,
without plants there's no meat, without meat
there's no man'. Our community aims to
prevent the extinction of our native bees in
Northern Ireland by providing members with
articles about the importance of bees for our
conservation and tips on how to create your own
colonies. We thank you for visiting our
site and happily invite you to join our
community :)
